The Grand-Place, the UNESCO-listed belfry and the Doudou give the city its own character, and Charleroi and Tournai are close by.
Around Mons you will find the region’s mining past, with the UNESCO sites of Grand-Hornu and Bois-du-Luc, and Pairi Daiza in Brugelette is only a short drive away. If you prefer nature, head for the rolling Pays des Collines or the Lacs de l’Eau d’Heure.
