Wind Farm is a creative team building around sustainability. Teams are tasked with building a 'wind-powered device' to lift a weight 1 meter off the ground. Each team receives a box with building materials that they must use as efficiently as possible. Each component has its own carbon footprint and the aim is of course to keep the total footprint of the device as low as possible. Once the teams have a working device, they can start thinking about how they can optimize to keep the footprint as low as possible.
After building, the sustainability challenge starts via an app-based game. During this challenge, the teams complete all kinds of questions and assignments to compensate for the carbon footprint of their construction. The challenge consists of quiz questions about sustainability as well as creative photo and video assignments.
Finally, we test all structures and calculate the final carbon footprint. The team with a working device and the lowest carbon footprint is ultimately declared the winner.
Wind Farm is an activity of 2 to 2.5 hours in a maximum of 20 teams of 7 to 8 participants in which problem-solving thinking, creativity, drive, cooperation and strategic thinking play an important role and can take place both indoors and outdoors.
