Methanex - Family day

On Sunday 30 August 2026, we organized a family day for Methanex Europe at Ferme de Woo in Rixensart, not far from their office in Waterloo. Around 50 people took part: employees and their families, including many young children. The entire program was hosted in English.

Methanex was looking for a relaxed day in the countryside, with activities that adults and children could enjoy together. We proposed several venues near Waterloo and together chose Ferme de Woo, where the hall offered space for lunch and the lawn for the activities. We tailored the program and catering to the client's wishes and budget.

The Farm Games started at 10 am. Guided by our farmers, the teams worked through a series of challenges such as hay sack throwing, a wheelbarrow race, goat milking, egg throwing, horseshoe pitching and animal memory. It is an accessible version of the Highland Games, where agility and teamwork matter more than strength, so even the youngest participants could fully join in.

Sheep Herding was also on the program. Together with the shepherd, the participants tried to calmly guide a flock of sheep through a course. Chase the sheep and they scatter in all directions; talk it through and take the right position, and the flock goes where it should. For the adults, a recognizable exercise in working together; for the children, a chance to see the animals up close.

Around 1 pm, everyone sat down in the farm's hall for a generous cold buffet in Ottolenghi style, with cooked vegetables, salads, cold meats, marinated salmon and desserts, along with non-alcoholic drinks. We wrapped up the day at around 2 pm.

Methanex got a tailor-made family day, where colleagues met outside of work, together with their families. Afterwards, the Methanex team let us know they had a great time.
