De Raad Bouw celebrates 100 years with a two-day trip to Ghent: on the water, at the brewery table and playing their way through the city!
De Raad Bouw, based in Katwijk in the Netherlands, is celebrating its 100th anniversary. To mark the occasion, the company treated its employees and partners to a two-day trip to Ghent, and we had the pleasure of organizing the day program in the city as well as the evening party. Some 140 guests headed to Ghent with one clear wish: to experience the city itself, right in the historic center. A brewery visit, a tour of the city and a trip on the water topped their list.
We split the guests into three groups of around 50 people. Each group enjoyed the same three activities, but in a different order. That way, nobody got in each other's way and every group had the city to itself for a while. In the morning, a coach took everyone from the hotel to the city center and brought them back again afterwards.
The program featured a one-hour boat trip through the historic heart of Ghent, a beer tasting with a cheese platter at Gruut, Ghent's city brewery, and a two-and-a-half-hour city game through the streets. Along the way, the teams were treated to a genuine Ghent 'druppel' of jenever and a 'neuzeke', the city's famous cuberdon candy. In between, everyone sat down together for lunch.
In the evening, the anniversary party continued at the hotel. A casino table with a croupier, a photo booth printing pictures all night long and, from 9.30 pm, a live band followed by a DJ made sure nobody wanted to go to bed early.
We took care of the preparation, the coordination with all partners, the coach transport and the on-site supervision. Geert was there in person to make sure everything ran smoothly. That same evening, De Raad received the results of the city game. And so 100 years of De Raad became a festive weekend in which everyone discovered Ghent together and got to know each other a little better along the way.
