A unique team-building experience where creativity and sustainability come together.
At Wind Farm, the focus is on creative team-building with an emphasis on sustainability. Teams are tasked with building a ‘wind-powered device’ capable of lifting a weight 1 meter off the ground. Each team receives a box of construction materials, and their goal is to work as efficiently as possible. Each component has its own CO2 footprint, and the objective is to keep the overall footprint of the device as low as possible. Once the teams have a functional device, they can brainstorm ways to further optimize and reduce the footprint.
After the construction phase, the “sustainability challenge” begins through an app-based game. During this challenge, teams tackle various questions and tasks to offset the CO2 footprint of their Wind Farm creation. The challenge includes both sustainability-related quiz questions and creative photo and video assignments.
Wind Farm concludes with a quality test of all constructions and the calculation of the final CO2 footprint. The team with a functional device and the lowest CO2 footprint is ultimately declared the winner.
Wind Farm is a 2 to 2.5-hour activity involving a maximum of 40 teams, each consisting of 7 to 8 participants. Problem-solving, creativity, determination, teamwork, and strategic thinking all play crucial roles, and the activity can take place either indoors or outdoors.
FAQ
What exactly do the teams build?
Each team builds a wind-powered device that can lift a weight one metre off the ground. Every component carries its own CO2 footprint, so the aim is a working device with the lowest possible overall footprint.
How long does Wind Farm take and how many can join?
Wind Farm is a 2 to 2.5-hour activity for up to 40 teams of 7 to 8 participants each. That scalability makes it well suited to sizeable groups working in parallel.
Can it take place indoors or outdoors?
Both work. Wind Farm can be held indoors or outdoors, which gives you flexibility around your venue and the weather. Problem-solving, creativity and strategic thinking are central wherever it runs.
How does the sustainability theme come into play?
After building, an app-based sustainability challenge begins, where teams offset the CO2 footprint of their creation through quiz questions and creative photo and video tasks. The winner is the team with a working device and the lowest final footprint.
